The majority of my racers are from the 1970s so expect signs of use, paint fading, slight buckles, worn bar tape and rusty wheels, all part of the character !
The majority of these bikes have steel wheels, as alloy wheels wernt invented back then! On many the chrome on the wheels starts to peel off and is left with surface rust, so I give the wheels a spruce up by spraying them with silver paint.
Please note the wicker baskets in the picture are for Illustration Only and are not included, you can buy them for £20 on Ebay or Halfords and are very simple to fit

Common Questions I am asked:
*I DO NOT SELL MOUNTAIN BIKES*
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A MOUNTAIN BIKE OR EQUIVALENT.
PLEASE MAY I SUGGEST: EBAY, HALFORDS, LOCAL NEWSPAPER OR MOTORWORLD IN PENRYN
I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE ELSE YOU CAN PURCHASE A MOUNTAIN BIKE FROM
A couple of points to remember
The purpose of my bicycles is to get students from A to B
If you are heavily into sport may I suggest buying a bicycle from Halfords
If you have a bicycle already then yours is probaly better than any of mine
All Wheels are RUSTY
The photos make the bicycles look more attractive than they are
None of my bicycles are suitable for triathlons, whether its a global, national or local event, my bicycles are just not suitable.
Collectors, my bicycles will not be of interest to you. None of my bicycles have rare or expensive components on them, none of the frames are Reynolds or Italian equivalents.
I do not post bicycles.
Taking an old bicycle to a bicycle repair shop is a costly business, you wont see any change out of £200

What you need to know if you are thinking of buying a used bike
This is common sense stuff and most people should be aware of this when buying any used item
Buying a used bike is very different to buying new
If you would like a pristine bicycle then my bikes are not for you
The cycles I sell are reasonably priced
As stated all cycles are used expect signs of wear & tear
Such as : slight buckles in wheels, part worn tyres, brake adjustments, gear adjustments
rust, worn gears, worn chains, paint fading, scratches, dents
I always go through basic adjustments with you Saddle, brakes, tyre pressures
I also recommend a Professional Cycle Engineer if you want a full service and overhaul. This costs between £50 and £250
Studentbikeshop cannot be held liable for any loss or damage or personal injury
With a used cycle you will need to replace parts either yourself or using a bike shop, this maybe within a week of purchase, a month, a year.
If you would like a maintenance free bicycle with a years guarantee then please do not buy a second hand bicycle
